Real estate is at the center of what we do. More than half of our firm’s work involves navigating the legal issues that arise in real estate. This is partially because our firm has made a name for itself in the real estate industry, but is also because so many of the other areas we practice touch on real estate (e.g. business law, contracts, commercial law, construction law, and torts). Because real estate matters often involve a client’s largest investment or most important project, we approach every issue, whether transactional or adversarial, with careful attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding our clients’ interests.
Our attorneys have extensive experience in both real estate litigation (pursuing and defending) and real estate transactions. We assist clients through the full life cycle of property ownership and development. Real estate touches countless legal disciplines, and we routinely handle matters involving land use, title issues, boundary disputes, easements, encroachments, restrictive covenants, property damage, construction issues, landlord–tenant disputes, financing concerns, and claims involving fraud or misrepresentation. Many of these disputes are fact-intensive, time-sensitive, and require a thorough understanding of both the law and the practical realities of property ownership. We work closely with our clients to evaluate their options, protect their rights, and pursue effective resolutions in and out of court.
Our firm also manages the full scope of real estate transactions, from straightforward residential matters to complex commercial projects. We negotiate, prepare, and review purchase agreements, leases, easements, deeds, financing documents, closing packages, and other instruments necessary to buy, sell, develop, or transfer property. We assist builders, remodelers, contractors, subcontractors, investors, and property owners with structuring deals, coordinating inspections and surveys, resolving due-diligence concerns, and navigating closing requirements. Whether a transaction involves a single parcel or a multi-property development, we aim to ensure that every document is properly drafted, every risk is identified, and every step is completed with precision.
Our firm has even taken part in the preparing of the Arkansas RealtorsTM Association’s form contract documents used by RealtorsTM throughout Arkansas.
In addition, we represent real estate agents, brokers, and property owners in matters before the Arkansas Real Estate Commission, including licensing issues, administrative claims, and disputes involving professional standards of conduct. We understand the regulatory framework governing real estate professionals and the importance of maintaining compliance in a highly regulated industry.
Our work ranges from preparing a simple deed to litigating complex title disputes and real estate fraud cases. Regardless of scale or complexity, our goal is the same: to provide clear guidance, protect our clients’ investments, and resolve real estate matters efficiently and effectively. If you need assistance with a real estate transaction or dispute, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how our firm can help.
