Unexpectedly and tragically, Don passed away on August 25, 2025. The legacy he left continued on as the firm carried forward its operations while keeping its namesake as part of its everyday business and as a memorial to Don, who dedicated his professional life to compassionately and intelligently caring for every client he represented with the utmost integrity. Don was an outstanding person and lawyer, and he was greatly missed by all who knew him.

In building his law practice, Don received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Leflar Law Center in 1984. He was awarded a B.A. in history from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, in 1979, and he studied German language at the Goethe Institute–Murnau, West Germany, in 1977. Don was born in Crossett, Arkansas, and moved to Little Rock in 1960, when the corner of West Markham and Rodney Parham was on the outer edge of the city limits. He practiced law from 1984 onward and litigated a wide variety of matters, including business litigation, real estate issues, admiralty cases, bankruptcy matters, family law matters, personal injury claims, fire-loss cases, and white-collar criminal cases.
